Kupa - (koo-pa) The Polish translation for POOP!

Crisis - (krī’sĭs) A dramatic emotional or circumstantial upheaval in a person’s life.

We are in the middle of a kupa crisis in my house.  There is a Polish saying that states: “Kto ma dzieci ten ma smród, kto ma pszczoły ten ma miód”, literally translated means “He who has children has odor, he who has bees has honey.”  It’s a much funnier saying in Polish, but you get the gist.  GG is on day 20 of diarrhea hell.  We are going through about 4-5 kupa diapers daily, which means I have changed 80-100 kupa diapers in the past three weeks.  Man, does my house smell!

Well, today I called the pediatrician (for the third time since this began) and I finally got a response where they thought I should bring him in.  About damn time!  We saw the pediatrician for a well baby checkup about 4 days after this began, and she said he had a stomach virus. “give him lots of fluids and an easy diet of rice and bananas”. Ok, 5 days later I call telling them that the rice and bananas are doing nothing for the kupa. Response: “this can last two weeks, so call if he is still having problems in 3 days”.  I called, left a message, and got no call back.  So, I waited… and waited… until today I changed three bad ones in a row.  That’s it, I am fed up with diarrhea!  So, we are going in to see the pediatrician tomorrow afternoon.  I think I am going to scream if they say “It’s just a virus!” and send me home with no answers again!
