Swimming in Snot

So, it’s official. My boys have their first cold of the season.  T3 started out with a runny nose on Thursday and then proceeded to tell me that his ear hurt.  I promptly gave him some Emergen-C Jr. (this stuff is the bomb!) and made a huge pot of my chicken soup.  The Emergen-C Jr. is amazing at stopping a cold in it’s tracks if given right when one starts.  My hubby and I have been using the adult Emergen-C for 3 years now and have yet to have a cold develop *knock on wood*.  So, T3 was feeling so much better today, and the runny nose all but stopped.  However, GG caught the dreaded snotty-nosed cold and he’s too young to have the stuff.  So, he’s suffering with a snotty nose and won’t eat a thing because he can only breathe through his mouth.  Try to take a snot sucker to his nose and he screams bloody murder.  Ah, the joys of cold season!  But he did have some of mama’s good old chicken soup, so we’ll have to see what the night and tomorrow look like.  Hopefully, it will pass soon.  I hate seeing him so miserable!

I work tomorrow and Sunday, so my DH is left swimming in snot this weekend.  Wish him luck, because he’s no good at using the snot sucker.
