‘Tis the Season for Babies

So, I have some big news.

But before I get to the news, let me explain this crazy baby season.  I swear there must be something in the water around here.  My two sister-in-laws are both pregnant, and are both due sometime in September within days of each other.  My husband’s best friend’s wife is pregnant with her first and due in June.  And there are three therapists at work due this week, which means I will be taking on three extra days during the week to help out while they are all on maternity leave.

And as if my life couldn’t get any busier and “baby-filled”, I get to my big news…

An addition to my family…

Actually eight additions…

My fish have decided to get frisky and I now have 8 of the tiniest fish in my aquarium.  Or at least 8 that I can count at one time.

At least all I have to do is feed them.  No diapers and middle of the night wakeups.  Oh yeah, I also have to make sure mom and dad don’t eat them either (thanks Google).  And another thanks to Google, I found out that the type of fish I have, tend to have babies once every 30 days, and can have up to 60 at one time, and that I really should get a nursery aquarium.

I have no idea what I am going to do with so many fish - maybe mom and dad eating them is not such a bad idea.

Sing with me… it’s the ciiiiiircle of liiiiife!

That’s sick, sorry. Our fish lays eggs regularly. Although we had her for like four years before she started doing this. She lays them and gets aggressive if anyone goes near the tank. Then she eats them.

Fish hormone swings are worse than human ones.

I have had so many fish, and never have they reproduced. How do I always end up with infertile fish?
Congrats on all the new additions!

I can’t help but laughing when you say it may not be bad for mom & dad to eat a few.

I cannot do fish, it’s too much work. The hamster and the dog are killing me as it is.

Interesting. It would have been so cool to see them born! Mom and Dad eats them? I hope the kids don’t see that!
