So, where have I been?
I was…
- Spending more time with my boys. T3 started preschool last week, and swimming lessons, and soccer – I can safely say I have never been so busy and have never had to fill my gas tank so much in the past 3 years. We also joined an open gym where both boys can run around like the crazies they are and get some of their energy out. A much needed change for me, being the homebody that I had become. The boys needed this and in some ways so did I.
- I was at the hospital twice in three days. No, not for me, but for the first girls born to my family. Each of my sister-in-laws gave birth within three days of each other to two adorable little girls – the ones for which I made the diaper cakes. My first ever nieces, and yes I already have started spoiling them rotten. One day I will be wearing that pink frilly tee shirt which proudly proclaims “Best Aunt – EVER!”
- I have been surprisingly thrown into a super-lucrative eBay business, compliments of my darling husband. He showed up after work one day with “stuff” and loads of it asking me (as I am a self-proclaimed eBay goddess) if I would try eBaying the “stuff”. I said I would give it a shot, and all I can say it WOOHOO! But it certainly has become a big time sucker.
- I have been organizing my life house. We don’t have a basement in our house, only a crawlspace, which is about 4 feet high. It has been driving me crazy that it was packed floor to ceiling with kids toys and clothes which my boys have either outgrown or had absolutely no interest in. I eBayed a good portion of stuff, but was still unable to see a dent in any of the storage, so I decided a garage sale is what I need. But not just any garage sale – a garage sale of mammoth proportions! I rented a space at the huge rec center we have here in town for their annual Kid’s Stuff Garage Sale, which is happening in a week. I didn’t realize truly how much junk I had until I started pulling it all out and sorting it in preparation for the sale. Now the only thing left to do (which I dread) is pricing it all. I haven’t the faintest idea what people are willing to pay for stuff. Oh yeah, and because my husband sucked me into his eBay side business, he is now required to be up super early next Saturday to help me setup. Payback is a bitch.
- I have been trying to go to sleep earlier. I realized that when my bedtime became 2am and my wake up was 7am, with an interruption at about 4am from X, that I had a problem on my hands. A big problem. I became so sleep deprived that I felt delirious at times – head spinning, light-headed, the whole deal. I have been able to go to bed at an earlier hour lately, but only after I catch up on my DVR stuff of course. I am taking vitamins again, trying to eat better, and am successfully getting some more z’s in every night – so I am starting to feel human again, which is a good thing. Maybe one day I’ll actually lay down the law and set an actual bedtime for myself, but don’t be surprised if you see me at midnight because I always have been and always will be a night owl.
- Speaking of night owl… last but not least (and the most important thing on this list as decreed by my husband) is that we have had more sex in the past month than… well… let’s just say in a long time. (Mom you know I have sex right? – ok just checking)
So, there you have it. No excuses. Just had to do what I had to do, you know.
