The best damn banana bread you’ll ever eat!

This was supposed to be a Wordless Wednesday, but how mean would I be if I didn’t post the super simple recipe? So, here it is - my “Wordy” Wednesday. Happy baking!

Banana Bread Goodness

MamaWise’s Best Damn Banana Bread Recipe

  • 4 over-ripe bananas (about 2 cups mashed)
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened (you can do 1/2 cup butter + 1/2 cup applesauce instead)
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup chopped/crushed walnuts (optional)

1. Lightly grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan and preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

2. Combine flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in a large bowl - set aside. In another bowl, mix the butter (and applesauce if using it) with the brown sugar. Next add eggs, mashed bananas, walnuts (optional) and vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly.

3. Add the wet banana mixture to the dry flour mixture, and mix gently, only until moistened. *NOTE* - don’t overmix unless you like a very dense bread! Pour mixture into greased loaf pan.

4. Bake in preheated oven on center rack for about 6o minutes. The top should be a nice crispy golden brown. Cool for 15 minutes and enjoy!
